The name of her can also be stylized in the form of AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15, 2015, and was praised by musicians and music blogs as well as media. Half the World Away, by the Oasis group for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy, by Nat King Cole are two of the most well-known covers by the artist. She gained some further recognition via a blog post from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her song Runaway. Make it a special day for her. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories are of discovering an old piano that was hidden away in her attic, and discovering the music that it made. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes, and Jan Oystein Aksnes urged Aurora Aksnes to pursue music as an activity or profession. The singer began to write lyrics of her own. Her influences include renowned writers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan along with her affinity with Bjork's style. She decided to start performing her songs publicly when her mother suggested that they can help other people, not to gain fame with her work but to make people see around them realize their importance and the ways they have an impact on the world. Her first piano lessons began at the age of six, and began creating music when she was nine. It wasn't known to her family about this until she was fourteen. She never had a desire to be Aurora. Aurora says that she likes creating songs. Music is her favourite way to feel anything.
